  • Update Jan 22, 2022

1. Testing patient messaging: People who may have been exposed, but are showing no symptoms or people who are double vaccinated experiencing mild symptoms with no risk factors do not require testing. They are to self-isolate a minimum of five days and monitor symptoms.

2. New booster eligibility. As of yesterday, pregnant women 18yrs and older are eligible to receive a booster two months after their second dose. They need to call and self-identify as pregnant to book their appointment.

3. New FH KYI for LTC/AL settings for staff and resident testing and reporting protocol. KYI attached

4. Some Suggestions for rapid tests: CDC Rapid Screening Program, Government of Canada - small workplace, Steven's - delivering by the end of January Rapid test and trace

Positive covid test & fully vaccinated (2 doses): you need to self-isolate at home for 5 days and until your symptoms improve and you no longer have a fever
Positive covid test & NOT fully vaccinated:
18 years of age or older -
you need to self-isolate at home for 10 days and until you no longer have a fever and your symptoms improve
18 years of age and under - you need to self-isolate at home for 5 days and until you no longer have a fever and your symptoms improve
Testing is not recommended: if you have symptoms, but do not meet requirements to be tested, there is no set amount of time for self-isolation. You'll need to self-isolate until your symptoms improve, you no longer have a fever, and you feel well enough to return to your normal activities

Additional details about isolation requirements can be found on the BCCDC website here and details to find out who does qualify for testing here.

  • Update Jan 13, 2021

Effective immediately, we will be returning to almost exclusively VIRTUAL/PHONE VISITS. This is due to the high number of COVID-19 cases due to the Omicron wave.

    • please DO NOT come to your in person appointment if you have any symptoms that could represent COVID-19 including fever, runny nose, cough, chills, fatigue, loss of taste or smell. Please CALL TO CANCEL your appointment

    • please come wearing a mask to your appointment

    • if you arrive early, please wait in your car and come in at the appointment time

    • your physician may want to talk to you on the phone before booking an in person visit. This is to determine if an in person visit is needed, and to make the in person exam if necessary shorter to reduce the face to face time and reduce the risk of the visit to both parties

    • please have your email address ready and the name of the pharmacy you would like any prescriptions sent to with you prior to your phone appointment

    • if you have a photo of a problem you would like to share with your doctor, please email it to 4oaksmedical@gmail.com within 24 hours of your appointment so that it can be loaded into your file. If you can, place a ruler in the field of the photo so that your doctor can tell how large the area of concern is. Please also ensure the photo is well lit and in focus
