Physicians

We are a group of five family physicians working in our private family practice in Langley, BC. We also work to take care of our patients at Langley Memorial Hospital.

Dr. David Chapman MBChB

I joined the Department of Family Practice at Langley Memorial Hospital in 1993, the same year that I opened my office in Langley. Along with my excellent colleagues at Four Oaks Medical Centre, I enjoy caring for people of all ages.

I graduated from the University of Cape Town and came to Canada from South Africa in the 1990s. After spending a few years working on the Prairies, I moved to the Lower Mainland. I am on the Editorial Board of the B.C. Medical Journal, and I am a clinical instructor in the Department of Family Practice of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia.

After working as a locum for several years, I joined Four Oaks Medical Center in 2019, taking over for retiring family physician Dr. Brian Morgan. I work alongside a group of wonderful family physicians, providing medical care both in the office and at Langley Memorial Hospital for inpatients. On days I am not in the office, I work at a number of Long Term Care facilities in the Lower Mainland. I can also be found with my 3 kids and husband on a number of different adventures as we explore our beautiful province.

I obtained a B.Sc. Honours in Biology with an extended English minor from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2007. In 2008 I went on to study medicine at Trinity College of Dublin, Ireland. There I was awarded a Foundation scholarship status. I returned to BC to study medicine at UBC in 2010. In 2017 I completed my residency training out of the UBC Family Medicine Program in Abbotsford. During my training I took a special interest in maternity care as well as geriatric medicine.

Dr. Jennifer Vassel, BScH, MD, CCFP

I obtained her BSc. in Honors Physiology from UBC in 2006 after completing a research thesis in diabetes and obesity treatment. I then went on to complete my MD from UBC in 2010 and my residency in Family Medicine from the Greater Vancouver Program in 2012. Following this I worked as a locum physician all over the Lower Mainland before starting my family practice in Langley, BC in 2015. I am passionate about teaching, and host medical students and residents in my practice to help ensure the next generation of physicians continue the tradition of full service medicine in our community. When not at work, I enjoy time with my young family and creative pursuits including painting, jewelry making and creative writing.
